Submission Notifications

Set up email notifications triggered when submitters fill out your form

Notifications let you send emails when someone submits your form — to yourself, your team, or the submitter as a confirmation.

Creating a Notification

1. Open Notifications

   Go to your form → Settings → Notifications, then click Create notification.

2. Choose a Trigger

   Select when the notification should fire: New Submission or Submission Updated.

3. Choose Delivery Method

   Select Email as the delivery method.

4. Configure the Email

   Set recipients, subject, and body. Use Insert Field to include submission data in the message.

Trigger Events

Event	When it fires
New Submission	Each time someone submits the form
Submission Updated	When a submission is edited after submitting

Email Configuration

Recipients

Send to any email address — your own, a teammate, or the submitter themselves. To notify the submitter, enter the field that collects their email address as the recipient.

Inserting Field Values

Use the Insert Field button in the email editor to include submission data in the subject or body. FormHug replaces field references with the actual submitted values when the email is sent.

Example subject:

New registration from [Name Field]

Example body:

Hi team,

A new registration was submitted:
- Name: [Name Field]
- Email: [Email Field]
- Selection: [Choice Field]
